FISHING RULES AND ELIGIBLE SPECIES

                                                                  Englewood Fishing Club 2023 Fishing event schedule

January:   Open all month. Trout as target species.

February:  El Cheepo Sheepo (Charlie Walsh Recognition event).  Feb. 23, 2023 .

Only Sheepshead to be weighed in.  Weigh in at Indian Mounds Pavilion from 12:30pm until 1:30pm. Cookout of HB & HD to follow with members bringing other items.

March: Open all month.  Mangrove Snapper target species.

April: Open all month.  Redfish target species.

May:  Open all month.  Tarpon and Snook target species.

June:  open all month.  Special Shark tournament to be held in Charlotte Harbor.

July and August do not have special events.

September: Open all month.  Snook target species.

October: Open all month.  Redfish target species.

November: Open all month.  Trout target species.

December:  nothing planned.  Perhaps have a beach fishing event.

                                               All fish reported must be on our approved species list. 

                               All reports are to be sent to Steve Daniel at retiredsteve@gmail.com 

                                          or by text to Steve at 863-272-8148 by the end of each month

                              Reports are to include a photo of the fish next to a measuring device.

                                       Additional photos of the member and their fish are encouraged.

                    All participating members will have their name in a hat a monthly winner will be drawn.

                                The exception is the El Cheepo Sheepo where the heaviest win.

                            Target species winners will receive recognition but no other awards.
