Charles Walsh (Vice Pres.)  introduced Betty Staugler from Sea Grant and Roger DeBruhler from Sea Grant and Charlotte County Natural Resources. Betty spoke at some length about the redfish tracking program they are operating in the Harbor including the tagging methods they use and how they go about data collection. She also showed dispersal results of tracked fish and mortality rates. Roger showed a short video of an inspection of a reef they put in place approximately one year ago, showing how it has attracted growth and fish in that short time. They provided copies of the new fishing regulations and said that they would be instituting a new scallop search sometime in August.

We thank Betty and Roger for thier presentation and time. A good time was had by all and all left the meeting much more knowledge about our marine resources.
