Oct. Fishing Derby results:  Bill Crooks 1st place inshore & overall winner, 7.8# Gag Grouper, Fred Cook, 2nd place 1# Flounder, Dot Kern, 1st place onshore, 4 oz Whiting, Henry Perry 1st place offshore. 3.2# Spanish Mackerel, Barbara Amatucci, womens division special award, 1.2# Sheepshead.

November Fishing Derby:  November 17, 2015 (Tuesday).  Trout Trumps All.  weigh-in at the Waterside Grill at Gasparilla with lunch on your own following the weigh-in at the Grill.

Fishing trip drawing:  The winners of the drawing for a fishing trip with Capt. Chris O'Neill, Tailchaser Charters, were: Bud Angus, Steve Gambaro & Matt Syrek.  They will be going out soonon this trip.  We plan to have a similar drawing early next year so our winter members can participate.

Fall BBQ and Swap meet:  Over 65 members enjoyed excellent favorite dishes, deserts, hot dogs, hamburgers and brats at this annual event.  The new portion of a swap meet for fishing and boating gear was also a success.  Items were purchase or swapped and we had a good showing of "Member vendors".  This was a very enjoyable event and we thank John Livecchi for all of his efforts to cook the main course meats.

Christmas party December 8, 2015.  Send your reservation form in now.  You should have received a separate e-mail with the form.  They will also be available at the November 12 meeting.  This will be the only meeting before the event. 

Toys for Tots:  The club is once again participating with the US Marines in the Toys For Tots program.  Please bring a new, unwrapped toy for a child to the November or December club meeting or to the Christmas party.  We will get the toys to the Marines who will distribute them to needy children.

Helping Hands:  Please bring non-perishable food items or toiletries to club meetings.  We will take these items to Helping Hands who will use them to help those in need.

Membership renewal:  Annual membership dues are becoming due.  Our membership year is January 1 through December 31.  Dues are remaining at $40.00 per family.  Please send your check made out to the Englewood Fishing Club to: John Livecchi, 20206 Astoria Ave., Port Charlotte, FL 33952.  Or you may pay John at a meeting.  New members who joined from October - December this year will be considered as 2016 members.

  As you catch your trophy fish you can have your photo posted on the web-page. Send photos to: webmaster@englewoodfishingclub.net.  Include the anglers name, fish species and size, date caught, body of water and any other pertinent information.
